Loveseat

Hello

Today we are going to Muse about the lost Loveseat.  If this is your first visit, welcome to Musings. If you have been here before, welcome back. Over time we are going to talk about many things: the past, the present, perhaps the future, travel, art, society and more. Wherever my musing takes me. I hope you will come along with me.

The Arteeest!

The Arteeest!

What a happy happening!

Twenty years ago I was doing a series of playful paintings focused on the figure.  A good friend of mine owned a frame shop in Palm Beach and for several years he allowed me to have a one-man show during the height of “season”, December through April when so many people are in Florida to escape the harshness of winter.  I think I exhibited at the frame shop five times.

Like all good things it eventually came to an end.  Other people approached him to show at the frame  shop and it became disruptive to his business.  He finally stopped having the exhibits.

But while it lasted it was fun and it was a great way to have my work seen.  After one show I gave a painting to my friend to say “thanks”.  He put it away in the bowels of the frame shop, saying when his house was fixed up he would display it properly.  Somehow that never happened.  The painting just stayed hidden away.

Time went by and my friend became ill with cancer and, a year ago, after a long struggle, he died.  He is missed by many people.  He was a good friend and very giving . . . to me and to many others.

In a sense he is still giving.  Last week the frame shop returned the painting to me.  What a treasure!  It has not been seen in nineteen years.  Here it is.  I think it is one of the best of the series.

On a Different Note

A friend sent me the following test.  I think you might enjoy it.

ALZHEIMER’S EYE TEST
(I love this part.. Its absolutely amazing!)

Count every “F” in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS…..
(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ‘F’s?

Count them again.

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 — no joke..
READ IT AGAIN !

Really, go back and try to find the 6 ‘F’s before you scroll down. The reasoning behind this is further down.

The brain cannot process “OF”.

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS…..

Incredible or what?

Anyone who counts all 6 ‘F’s on the first go is a genius..Three is normal, four is quite rare.
