Midnight Mauling

Today we are going to Muse about storms and aspirin.  If this is your first visit, welcome to Musings. If you have been here before, welcome back. Over time we are going to talk about many things: the past, the present, perhaps the future, travel, art, society and more. Wherever my musing takes me. I hope you will come along with me.

So I show up at the croquet lawns ready to play.  As I walk by people react:

My Gawd, what happened to you?

Have a little trouble at home?

What does the other guy look like?

Not the mark of Zorro

Not the mark of Zorro

Not that simple.  This was the case of a midnight mauling.

There were three factors at play:

The catalyst

Night time storm

Night time storm

The facilitator

Baby Aspirin

Baby Aspirin

The culprit

We get some pretty good storms down here.  Florida is called the lightning center of the world.  Teddy doesn’t like them.  They drive him wild.  He runs through the house barking and jumping in a frenzy.

We had a storm like that the other night.

I’m a pretty healthy guy.  I take a statin for cholesterol and baby aspirin to thin my blood.  Thats all.  One side effect of this massive medical regimen is that I bruise easily.  I guess the aspirin does that.

I take the aspirin daily.

Teddy doesn’t like storms.  That is his only issue.  He likes people.  He likes other animals. He is a happy dog.  Oh, he also gets very long nails.

So, the other night as I slept, the storm erupted upon us.  Teddy went wild, barking running through the house.  He jumped on the bed and ran over my head . . . with his nails.

He got the other side, too.

Right Side

Right Side

The midnight mauling.
